Proving Ground Support

This guide explains who supports a Proving Ground (PG) after it's provisioned, and what to do if you need help as an Omnissa partner or Omnissa employee.

Summary

  • Proving Grounds are production Workspace ONE and Horizon Cloud services in a dedicated Omnissa Connect organization.
  • TestDrive handles PG requests, authorization, brokered provisioning and decommissioning tasks, as well as original organization owner changes.
  • TestDrive does not manage or operate the Omnissa services, nor does it handle Omnissa Connect organization onboarding or ongoing organization management.

PG Support Overview

A Proving Ground consists of production Omnissa Workspace ONE and Horizon Cloud Service SaaS services running in production, contained in a dedicated Omnissa Connect organization.

TestDrive authorizes and provisions the PG request, but it does not operate or administer the environment afterward. TestDrive is the broker that gets the environment created—not the operator of the production services running inside it.

Support by User Type

Partners should contact their Omnissa representative to facilitate technical product support for a PG.

Otherwise, PG services are self-supported, as stated in the Proving Ground Disclaimer. Review the disclaimer for the full terms covering support and proper use of a Proving Ground.

Omnissa employees should follow proper internal product support channels.

If you need assistance with those, your team lead can assit.

What TestDrive Supports vs. What It Doesn't

Onboarding into Omnissa Connect Not brokered by TestDrive / Self-administered via Omnissa Connect
Changing original PG organization owner ✅
Decommissioning PG services (Workspace ONE/Horizon Cloud tenants) ✅
Deactivating the Omnissa Connect PG organization Not brokered by TestDrive / Self-administered via Omnissa Connect

UEM environment upgrades ✅ (Shared SaaS rolling schedule)
Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) entitlement ✅ (MTD pre-sales/product management)

Special Support Notes

  • Environment resets aren't generally supported. A PG is intended to be a lasting demo environment. If you think you've encountered an issue, contact the appropriate Omnissa product team for proper triage.
  • Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) isn't entitled by default in a PG. If you need it, contact your MTD pre-sales or product management contact.
  • Workspace ONE Assist is integrated into UEM but is not launched from the Omnissa Connect tile. See the Assist product documentation for setup.
  • UEM environment upgrades follow the Shared SaaS major version rolling deployment schedule managed by Omnissa SaaS Operations.
  • Organization ownership is self-managed. Partner PG owners manage all other owners and members in their organization (See Managing Your Omnissa Connect Organizations). If the owner leaves and no backup owner exists, use the PG Organization Owner Change — Partner or PG Organization Owner Change — Omnissa Employee guide.
  • Decommissioning is split between TestDrive and the org owner. TestDrive Help only handles deleting the Workspace ONE/Horizon Cloud Service tenants. Deactivating the Omnissa Connect organization itself is self-administered — only an organization owner can do it. See the Decommissioning a Proving Ground guide for both steps.

Getting Help from TestDrive

TestDrive Help is resourced to act only on the PG request/authorization, provisioning tasks it brokers, and orginal PG ownership changes. TestDrive has no role in onboarding: once a PG request is authorized, onboarding into Omnissa Connect is a self-service flow completed directly by the requestor.

Before opening a ticket, please double-check your request against the table above. If it falls into a TestDrive-brokered task, create a TestDrive Help ticket and we'll take it from there.

If your question is instead about product functionality, configuration, upgrades, MTD entitlement, or troubleshooting inside the provisioned services, please go directly to the channels above based on your user type. TestDrive Help isn't equipped to resolve these, and routing there first gets you a faster answer than waiting on a ticket we'd only need to redirect.
