Omnissa App Volumes - Applications and Packages

In this quick walkthrough we're going to demo how Omnissa App Volumes can package and deliver applications through their entire lifecycle.

Walkthrough Summary

  • Open TestDrive Workspace ONE and log in with your Test Drive credentials
  • Launch the Desktop pool called TD-WINDOWS11
  • Launch the shortcut on the desktop called "App Volumes Manager"
  • Navigate to the Applications tab
  • View the Microsoft Office Application options
  • Navigate to the Packages tab
  • View Microsoft Office 2019 Package options
  • Close App Volumes Manager.
  • **Navigate ** Start menu
  • Launch Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Close PowerPoint.
  • Log out of the TD-WINDOWS11 Desktop

In order to perform the full end-to-end demo make sure you have the following:

  • A valid account in the Omnissa TestDrive environment, sign up here if you don't
  • Network access from your device and TCP ports 80, 443 and 4172 & UDP 4172 enabled
  • An appropriate Horizon client installed on your device
  • An appropriate web browser (such as Google Chrome) installed on your device

Let's get started, open up your favorite web browser and get sign into Workspace ONE.

Click the "Launcher" Tab and  Launch "TD-WINDOWS11"

From the Windows Desktop, launch the shortcut called "App Volumes Manager"

Log in with your TestDrive credentials (Note: You will have read-only access to the App Volumes Manager Console)

Choose the "Inventory" button and navigate to the Applications Tab and expand the VDI-Microsoft Office 2019 Application

This is where you control Assignments and create Packages.

Navigate to the Packages tab and expand the VDI-Microsoft Office 2019 Package.  Note the controls and options.  Click "Programs"

Note the complete list of Programs.

Close the Programs list and click "Edit"

Find the "Stage" section and notice the stage selected is "Published" and note the other stages available as well.

Log out of App Volumes Manager and close.

Click the Start Button then Click on Powerpoint.  (Search if it does not show up at first.)

Click the "Ask me later" button, and click "Accept"

Once the Application comes up, you can close at any time

Log out of the TD-WINDOWS11 Desktop

This completes the Omnissa App Volumes Applications and Packages Demo.
